Course Overview

The concept of mind is a fascinating and complex one. It is not limited to the realm of energy or spirit but rather encompasses both. Mind is not something that is inherent in energy; rather, energy is receptive and responsive to the influence of mind. Mind can be superimposed upon energy, but consciousness, the essence of mind, is not inherent in purely material existence.

Spirit, on the other hand, is always intelligent and minded in some way. It may take various forms and levels of consciousness, such as premind, super mind, or even spirit mind. Spirit is innately conscious and identifying, and its insight transcends and supervenes the consciousness of mind. In fact, one could argue that the consciousness of mind is derived from the inherent intelligence of spirit.

When we consider the origins of mind, we find that the Third Person of Deity is the ultimate source. The Conjoint Creator, as the ancestor of the cosmic mind, bestows the mind of man as an individualized circuit, a unique and impersonal portion of the cosmic mind. This bestowal is facilitated by a Creative Daughter of the Third Source and Center, who brings the cosmic mind into existence within a local universe.

In understanding the interplay between mind, energy, and spirit, we come to appreciate the intricate nature of our own consciousness. We are not simply products of material existence, but rather recipients of a cosmic mind that is intricately connected to the intelligence and consciousness of spirit. This realization invites us to explore the depths of our own minds and to embrace the limitless potential that lies within.
